Roger O’Neill. A 2009 graduate of MHS, Coach O’Neill was a three-year starter for the Mavericks and was on two state tournament teams. In his senior season, the Mavs were crowned Wesco South Champions, 3A District 1 Champions, and earned a 6th place finish at the 3A State Tournament. O’Neill was named 1st Team All-Wesco, 1st Team All-Area, and was selected to play on the Washington State 3A All Star team. He ranks 2nd in MHS history for points in a season, 7th for points in a career, and was also a four-year varsity letterman for the Mavs baseball program, which included two 3A state final four appearances. O’Neill went on to play basketball at Saint Martin’s University where he was a four-year starter, finished his career with 1189 points, and earned a degree in Business Administration. O’Neill, who is also a Math/English teacher, joined the Mavs coaching staff in 2013 before taking over as Head Coach in 2015.


Chad McGuire returned to the Mavs boys basketball program in the 2018-19 season after an 8-year hiatus from coaching. Previously, McGuire was the Meadowdale head coach from 2002-2011. Under his leadership, Meadowdale made 5 trips to the 3A State Tournament, including 3 trips to the Final Four (2003, 2004, 2009). His career record of 171 wins to 68 losses is the best in school history. McGuire, who was a decorated multi-sport athlete at Woodway High School, was also inducted into the Everett Community College Athletics Hall of Fame for his accomplishments as a Trojan. McGuire has been a history teacher at Meadowdale since 1996.


Tim Sellereit returned to the Mavs sideline in 2022-23 as the Head JV Coach after a previous two-year stint as the JV Assistant under longtime coach Andrew Matty. Sellereit, who also served as a Head Coach in the Meadowdale Feeder Program, was a three-sport standout at Bellingham High School, where he graduated in 2002. Sellereit was inducted into the BHS Athletics Hall of Fame in 2022. After high school, Sellereit played college basketball and earned his degree from Whitworth University.


Spencer Linton joined the Meadowdale Basketball Coaching Staff prior to the 2021-22 season after returning home to the PNW after several years working in San Diego. A 2012 graduate of MHS, Linton was a sharpshooter for the Mavs during his three years on Varsity. During his sophomore season in 2010, Linton finished second in 3-point FG made on the 5th-in-State Mavericks. His junior year, Linton became one of just nine players in Meadowdale Basketball history to make over 45 three-pointers in a single season.


Tyler Smith joined the Mavs Coaching Staff for the 2022-23 season as a JV Assistant under Coach Sellereit. Smith, who graduated from Bend (OR) Senior High School in 2008, embodies the values of servant leadership and is known for the passion and energy he brings to The Stable every day. After graduating from the University of Oregon (boo…) School of Business in 2012, Smith chose the correct PNW state to reside in and moved north. A resident of Lynnwood, Smith is also the Director of Digital Marketing at a software company in Seattle.
